Biography
Link, a Calafrack native, is the son of John Gondev the former leader of the Woodsman Guild and council member of the now defunct "Masters of Guilds" that governed Calafrack before the civil war in Pegasus. In the wake of the war Princess Alexandria Natale fled to Calafrack and contracted the Woodsman Guild to protect her, using the alias Diana Farrow. When Plife Draven discovered her whereabouts however, he marched his army, and his Dragon Gigalith the Destroyer, into Calafrack demanding that she be turned over to them. The Masters of Guilds wisely agreed to yield to Plife, but when John Gondev called for the princess to be brought to Plife she and Link had disappeared. With the help of Daniel Stonevien, Link and Princess Alexandria were able to slip out of Calafrack an escape to the neighboring Ruinous, cause Calafrack to be pulled into the war. After arriving in Ruinous the three approached Daerunt Danford, the King of Ruinous, and pleaded with him to aid the Natales in their plight. Daerunt agreed to aid the Pegasus and slay Giaglith, under the conditions that Pegasus would no longer be a free and independent nation, but a territory sworn to Ruinous and that Alexandria agree to be taken as Daerunt's queen. With little choice the princess agreed to Daerunt's terms and married the king. Link and Daniel also agreed to serve in the king's army and partook in key battles in the war, including the turning point in the war, retaking of Sky City, where Daniel Stonevien slew Gigalith. Durning the war Link was forced to fight against his own people though, because his decision to aid Alexandria forced Calafrack to swear it allegiance to Plife. During the retaking of Sky City, Link saw his father killed in the vanguard, fighting on the opposite side from his son. The guilds of Calafrack were all made to fight in the van so many of them were devastated and never able to rebuild after the war, including the Woodsman Guild. After the war Link returned to Ruinous where he would be made a Royal Knight and honored for his service to the queen and to Ruinous in the war. Shortly after his knighting the queen gave birth to Prince Domino, but died in child birth. The loss was difficult for Link, as he and Alexandria had been close friends, and to honor their friendship Daerunt named Link the sworn sword and shield to the prince. Link has always been a pseudo father figure to the Prince, shadowing the boy at all times grooming him for combat and leadership.
