Like a Cup
I once had a cup
Half empty or half full
You filled that cup with ice
A touch chilling and cool
With ice I felt complete
There looked to be no room
Your cold was everything
Held in my cup's cocoon
But soon the ice did melt
A small puddle did remain
Appeared to fill so little
But still it felt the same
Till you poured my cup
And you dribbled to the dirt
Leaving me but empty
And lacking all my worth
I tried to fill the void
Stacking it with air
But every time I turned
It seemed nothing was there
I miss that ice
And pool of water
The melted dribbles
That I bothered
And though my cup
Was scarcely full
It was enough
Cause it was you
Half empty or half full
You filled that cup with ice
A touch chilling and cool
With ice I felt complete
There looked to be no room
Your cold was everything
Held in my cup's cocoon
But soon the ice did melt
A small puddle did remain
Appeared to fill so little
But still it felt the same
Till you poured my cup
And you dribbled to the dirt
Leaving me but empty
And lacking all my worth
I tried to fill the void
Stacking it with air
But every time I turned
It seemed nothing was there
I miss that ice
And pool of water
The melted dribbles
That I bothered
And though my cup
Was scarcely full
It was enough
Cause it was you
