Well I always say that I am a true believer in karma and after last night I can tell you it's very real. I was in Philadelphia last night seeing Circa Survive at the Union Transfer. The show was one of two sold out home town performances that are rounding out their tour for their new album Descensus, the album is phenomenal by the way so if you haven't checked it out please do. So that being said, it was a packed house and shit was getting wild. My body was being tossed about in a raging sea of flesh. Now mind you this isn't my first rodeo so I am all to familiar with the anarchy that is front center stage, but it's my favorite band so naturally I'm in there. It was about the third or so song and I check my pockets, as I always do as I am paranoid about losing things, and of coarse my wallet has disappeared. I knew that it must have slipped out of pocket while my body was being tossed about. So I figured that it was on the floor and figure my belongings would be scattered about but I was not letting that ruin my evening so I continued to partake in the madness. The show went on and I was loving life, then I look to my feet and see two cards. "Perhaps I was in luck and could recover some of my things" I thought as I reached to the floor as my body swayed. I find my AAA card and a metro card, so it's a start and it gave me hope. Unfortunately the show eventually came to an end and the crowd cleared. This was my chance to recover what I lost but when I looked to the ground nothing was there. "Holy fuck" I thought. I was faithful I would find it though so I began to look. There were only really three things of value anyway that I needed and the physical wallet was not one of them. I needed my bank card, my gas card, and drivers liscence. After looking for a bit I approached security and they had my bank card. Some one had found it and given it to them. Phew that's one crisis averted as atleast my finances were now safely back in my pocket. Next I move to the merch table and a friend of my was there and saud that he had just handed in my gas card. Score! Two down one to go. Now I kept looking for the remaining things for about another 30 minutes and had no luck but one of the workers found my liscence and returned it to me and 15 minutes later she brought me my wallet, with everything else still inside. When she tossed me that thin leather slab I felt such relief. Not just because my things and I were reunited but because three separate people had found my things and turned them in. I haven't times before found a persons purse or wallet and returned it to their rightful owner or handed it in to some one who could and always though "I'd want some one to do the same for me". Well it looks like karma came through for me in the end. That being said the show was fantastic. Lessons learned are to take care of other people, even those you don't know, and to never let bad things ruin your good times. You can't control what has happened but you can control what will.
Well this is my first attempt at blogging. It's pretty nice that I can just do this from my phone just like tweeting. Hopefully a blog can be successful for me. I'll just post random stuff about things I watch on tv or that I go to. And so you guys know |
