Biography

Sissold is one of two Light Mages in Ruinous, the other being Keliea Nyis, and the last living Nands to possesses the gift. House Nands traditionally produces powerful Light Mages, but his granddaughter Ellen was born lame and his son Gunther, a light mage, was executed by Pedigran Lagrest in the War of Extermination.  At the start of the war Sissold, who was serving Pedigran as his high Mage, Sissold was taken prisoner by the Lagrest King while he began executing Mages.  Sissold sat helplessly chained in the dungeons of Stallworth until Daerunt assassinated Pedigran, took the crown for himself, and freed Sissold.  Sissold was reinstated to his position as High Mage and elevated to one of Daerunt's most valued advisors.  His role on the council is to oversee Issaeos, working closely with the Enduares, ensuring that all mages are receiving proper training and education, as well as furthering the development of magic in Ruinous.  He is also responsible to directly oversee the progress of Keliea Nyis, who is a high born light mage and potentially the next in line to become High Mage of Ruinous.
